What’s the Back Story?
In May 2019 my son joined the U.S. Navy and I joined a few penpal and card writing groups as a way to ‘mother’ from my now empty nest. I’ve enjoyed sending 50-80 birthday cards each month since July 2019. I truly feel called to do this.

In addition to the monthly birthday cards, every year the groups I belong to focus on sending cards for deployed military personnel of all branches and recruits going through Navy Boot Camp over the holidays. And lastly the groups I belong to do massive Veterans Day pushes.

In recent years with the help of some friends and a local Ladies Clubs, we were able to make about 300 cards. This year we are aiming for a total of over 2100 for Birthday Cards for Troops, Christmas Cards for Troops and Veterans Day Cards!  Won’t you join us?
