Winter Meadows Gift Card Holder

I just love this paper! Don’t you? Show off four pieces with this version of Sketch #11 tipped on it’s side to create a quick & easy gift card holder.

Measurements

Full list of supplies needed, listed below.
Base – Blueberry Bushel

            6 ¼” x 8 ½”

White – 3” x 4 ¼” 2 7/8” x 4 1/8”

              scrap for punching

Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper (DSP) –  blue and green leaf pattern  – 2 7/8” x 4 1/8”  ( 2 pieces)
                                      blue watercolor pattern – 1” x 7 ½”
                                      Lost Lagoon watercolor pattern – 1 3/8” x 1 5/8”

Let’s Create

  1. Affix all stamps to Acrylic Blocks.
  2. Fold the Card Base in half using a Bone Folder to sharpen the crease.
  3. Score the Blueberry Bushel panel on the short side at 3 1/8” and the long side at 4 ¼”.
  4. Fold and burnish on the score lines.
  5. Holding it so the long side is at the bottom fold the left side over the right side.  Mark the top panel as this is the panel you will cut out.  Use your scissors to cut out the panel making sure to cut just below the horizontal scored line.  To check the panels to make sure you can close the holder, fold the ½ sheet over the top of bottom panel on the right.  Then fold the top panel down over the bottom panel.  If either of the panels do not fold well, trim along the score line until it folds flat.  Keep the piece you cut out as you will use it to make the pocket for your gift card holder.
  6. Take the panel you cut off and cut it down to 2 ½” x 4”.  Use a circle punch to punch out a notch on one of the long sides.  This is the thumb spot to remove the gift card easily.  Open the holder open and lay it flat.  Apply glue to the 2 short sides and the long side without the notch and glue it to the half panel with the notch at the top and the bottom edges even and it is evenly spaced on the sides.
  7. With the holder still open, glue 1 of the blue and green pieces of dsp to the top panel on the right.
  8. Stamp the tree from Yuletide Village using Garden Green ink the right hand corner of the White panel.  Add the White panel to the lower panel on the right side.
  9. Fold the holder closed beginning with the left panel over top the bottom right panel and then the top panel over the bottom panel.
  10. To decorate the front of the holder, take the other blue and green piece of DSP and cut it at 1 ½” on the short side.  Add the top of this piece to the top of the front panel making sure the spacing at the sides and top is even.
  11. Take the other strip you cut off and cut it down to 2 ½” long.  Check how this fits on the bottom left of the front panel.  If there is not enough space at the bottom to match the top space, trim slightly.  Glue this piece of DSP to the lower left of the front panel making sure the left side lines up with the top piece of DSP.
  12. Take the piece of the Lost Lagoon watercolor DSP and check the spacing .  Cut the DSP if needed and glue it to the bottom right of the front panel.
  13. With the scrap paper, stamp the tree from Yuletide Village.  Use the 2” circle punch to punch it out making sure the tree is to the lower right of the circle.
  14. Punch out 2 of the larger leaf sprays from the bough punch.  Use your green watercolor pencils to color the sprays using a variety of greens to add interest.  Blend the colors using a blender pen.
  15. Glue the 2 leaf sprays to the back of the tree circle.
  16. Use the 1” blue strip and wrap it around the closed holder making sure it is not too tight that it cannot be removed easily.  Add Tear & Tape to the top end of the bottom strip and the underside of the top strip.  Remove the backing and glue the ends together forming a belly band.
  17. Add dimensionals to the center front of the belly band to attach the circle.  Make sure the dimensionals do not go beyond the circle.  Attach the circle to the belly band.
  18. Add 3 gold Blooming Pearls to the circle.

Season of Elegance Gift Card Holder

This time of year we need gift card holders! Here’s a simple design you can whip up in no time and the best part? You get to use four pieces of your favorite patterned paper!

Measurements

Full list of supplies needed, listed below.

Card base – Cherry Cobber

  • 4 ¼” x 5 ½”
  • 2 7/8” x 4 1/8”

Shaded Spruce

  • 4 ½” x 9 ¾” scored at 3 ¼” x 6 ½”
  • 2” x 3”

White – 3” x 4 ¼” – 2 pieces

Season of Elegance Designer Series Paper (DSP) –  Basic Beige & gold pattern

  • 4” x 5 ¼”
  • 2 ¾” x 4”

Season of Elegance Designer Series Paper (DSP) – Cherry Cobbler & Gold pattern

  • 1 3/8″ x 1 5/8”
  • 2” x 4 ¼”

Let’s Create

  1. Affix all stamps to Acrylic Blocks.
  2. Fold the Card Base in half using a Bone Folder to sharpen the crease.
  3. Attach the large panel of Basic Beige & gold patter to the large Cherry Cobbler panel.
  4. Fold and burnish Shaded Spruce strip with mountain then valley folds.
  5. Open the Shaded Spruce strip so that the mountain fold is at the top.  Layer one of the White panels to top panel.  Add the smaller Cherry Cobbler panel on top of the White.
  6. Take the other panel of Basic Beige Season of Elegance dsp and on the short side cut it in half at 1 3/8”.  Flip one of the strip to the back that does not have the gold on it and adhere it to the top of the Cheery Cobbler panel you added in Step 3 leaving equal spacing on the sides and top – about 1/8”.
  7. Take the other strip you cut from Step 4 and cut it into a 2 3/8” strip.  Using the Basic Beige and gold side, add this strip to the Cheery Cobbler panel butting it up against the strip you added in Step 4 and making it even on the left side with the strip at the top.  This will leave about 1/8” on the bottom and left side.
  8. Use the small Cherry Cobbler and Gold piece of dsp and add it in the space to the right of the strip added in Step 5 making sure to butt it up against the Basic Beige and gold strip and that it is even with the strip at the top you added in Step 4.  This will give you about 1/8” at the bottom and on the right side.
  9. Stamp the tree from Yuletide Village using Shaded Spruce in the left hand corner of the other White panel.  Use a Cherry Cobbler marker to add red dots to the tree to represent ornaments.  Add the White panel to the center panel of the Shaded Spruce strip.
  10. To form the pocket for the gift card, take the red and gold dsp strip and add glue on each of the short sides and bottom.  Note – do not add glue to the top or you will glue your pocket shut.  Add the strip to the bottom panel of the Shaded Spruce strip centering on the sides and bottom.
  11. Close the Shaded Spruce strip and add glue to the back.  Add it to the Cherry Cobbler large panel centering it on all sides.
  12. To make the tree, use the 2” x 3” Shaded Spruce and measure the middle of one of the 2” sides and make a mark.  This will be 1”.  Use your scissors or trimmer to cut from the lower right hand corner to the 1” mark at the top.  Repeat on the other side.  Add the tree to the left side of the front panel using dimensionals.
  13. With the Cherry Cobbler blend, color some of the small rhinestones.  Sprinkle them on your tree.
  14. Tie a small bow with the Gold 1/8” trim.  Add it to the top of the tree using a glue dot.
