Sending You Lots of Love

Lots of layers come together in this quick & easy project, easily replicable using your own supplies, or check out the shopping list to recreate as designed.

Create handmade cards with fun surprises using the Hooray for Surprises Bundle! Stamp an image, then add a die-cut element for a surprise: a zip strip that tears away to reveal a message, or a die cut with peek-throughs to show a teeny bit of what’s underneath.

Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock: 5 ½” w x 8 ½” h scored and folded at 4 ¼” h

Very Vanilla Cardstock:

  • 3 ⅜” x 2 ¼”
  • Scrap for stamping and die cutting heart

Moody Mauve: 5 ⅜” x 4 ⅛” 

Early Espresso

  • 4 ⅝” x 3 ⅜” 
  • 4” x 2 ½” 
  • 3 ½” x 2 ⅜”  

Poetic Expressions Series Paper (DSP): 

  • 4 ½” x 3 ¼” (light background)
  • 3 ⅞” x 2 ⅜” (Moody Mauve background)


Let’s Create

  1. Affix all stamps to Acrylic Blocks.
  2. Fold the Card Base in half using a Bone Folder to sharpen the crease.
  3. Using the crosshatching embossing folder from the Basics Embossing Folder Bundle, emboss the 5 ⅜” x 4 ⅛” Moody Mauve cardstock.  Attach this layer to the folded card base using Stampin’ Seal
  4. Using Moody Mauve Ink Pad, stamp the heart with the tulips onto the Very Vanilla Scrap of cardstock, and die cut.
  5. Color in the flowers using a Petal Pink Light stampin Blend. Color the leaves using a Soft Seafoam Light Stampin’ Blend.
  6. Using Early Espresso ink pad, stamp the sentiment towards the bottom of the 3 ⅜” x 2 ¼” Very Vanilla cardstock. 
  7. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, attached the die cut heart to this piece.
  8. Match up the 2 DSP pieces with their coordinating Early Espresso mats and adhere them using Stampin’ Seal.
  9. Attach the stamped Very Vanilla cardstock to the remaining Early Espresso mat using Stampin’ Seal.
  10. Using a piece of Gold & Very Vanilla Satin Edged Ribbon, tie a bow around the 4 ⅝” x 3 ⅜” Early Espresso/Light colored DSP Layers and adhere these layers centered to the card. 
  11. Attach the other DSP layered piece at a bit of an angle and the stamped Very Vanilla layered piece at an angle to opposite direction using Stampin’ Seal.
  12. Decorate the inside of your card and your envelope and send someone special your love.

Basic White Thick Cardstock: 5 ½” w x 8 ½” h scored and folded at 4 ¼” h

Basic White Cardstock:

  • 2” x 3 ½” 
  • Scrap for cake

Flirty Flamingo: 5 ⅜” x 4 ⅛” 

Azure Afternoon: 3 ⅜” x 2” 

Lighter Than Air Designer Series Paper (DSP): 

  • 5 ¼” x 3” 
  • 5 ¼” x ½”


Let’s Create

  1. Affix all stamps to Acrylic Blocks.
  2. Fold the Card Base in half using a Bone Folder to sharpen the crease.
  3. Attach the 5 ⅜” x 4 ⅛” Flirty Flamingo cardstock with Stampin’ Seal.
  4. Attach the 5 ¼”  x 3” DSP with Stampin’ Seal.
  5. Attach the 5 ¼” x ½” DSP strip along the right edge of the 5 ¼” x 3” DSP with Stampin’ Seal.
  6. Using the Lemon Lolly ribbon from the Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack, tie a bow around these layers approx. ¾” from the bottom edge.
  7. Attach these pieces about ¼” from the left side of the Flirty Flamingo card with Stampin’ Seal.
  8. Using Flirty Flamingo ink, stamp the cake onto Basic White Scrap and die cut.
  9. Die cut the Basic White 3 ¼” x 2” cardstock using the deckled rectangle die with measures approx. 4 ⅛” x 1 ¾”.  Using the Make A Wish stamp and Azure Afternoon ink pad, stamp the sentiment towards the top of this die cut layer.  Using the candle flame and Daffodil Delight ink, stamp the flame of the candle just below the sentiment. Using Azure Afternoon ink, stamp the candle just below the yellow flame.
  10. Adhere the die cut cake using Stampin’ Dimensionals to the stamped Basic White Layer.
  11. Adhere the stamped layer to the 3 ⅜” x 2” Azure Afternoon Cardstock.
  12. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere these layers to the card front towards the top.
  13. Randomly place 2 of blue sequins from the Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins onto the card.
  14. Decorate the inside of your card and your envelope.

Card base – Basic White Cardstock:

                      5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

                      Scraps for stamping and die cutting

Gorgeous Grape: Cardstock 4” x 5 ¼”

                                  Scrap for die cutting

Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (DSP)– stalks of lavender pattern: 3 ½” x 5”


Let’s Create

  1. Affix all stamps to acrylic blocks.
  2. Fold and burnish card base at the score line using bone folder.
  3. Using your trimmer, cut the piece of dsp at 2”.  Take that piece and set aside.  Using the remaining piece of dsp cut at 1”.  That will leave ½”.  Keep the dsp in the order it was cut so that the pattern is continuous.
  4. Add the 2”piece of Perennial Lavender dsp to the left side of the Gorgeous Grape panel.  Glue the ½” piece of dsp to the right hand side of the Gorgeous Grape panel making sure the spacing is the same as the panel on the left..
  5. Attach the 1” piece of dsp in the center between the other 2 strips making sure the spacing side to side is even and the top and bottom are even with the other 2 strips.
  6. Add the panel from Step 5 to the card front making sure it is centered on all sides.
  7. Stamp the top of the largest flower stem using Memento Tuxedo black ink onto a scrap of White.
  8. Use blends and markers to color the stamped image as below.
  9.   Flowers – Highland Heather blend
  10.   Buds – Gorgeous Grape marker
  11.   Leaves – Shaded Spruce blend
  12. With the next to the largest circle die from Stylish Shapes die cut the top of the stamped image.
  13. Use the largest circle die and the scrap of Gorgeous Grape to cut out the circle.
  14. Layer the 2 circles centering the inside one
  15. With a scrap of White cut out large curved leaf spray.  Use glue to add the spray to the left side of the card front.  See photo above.
  16. Use dimensionals to add the circle element from Step 11 to the card front nested in the center of the leaf spray added to the card front in Step 12. See photo above.
  17. Use the same coloring procedure and largest flower stem to stamp and decorate the inside of the card and envelope.

                      Scrap for die cutting and embossing

Berry Burst: 4” x 5 ¼”

Bubble Bath: ½” x 6 ½”

Perennial Lavender – Queen Anne’s lace clustered pattern:    4” x 4”

Let’s Create

  1. Affix all stamps to acrylic blocks.
  2. Fold and burnish card base at the score line using bone folder.
  3. Glue the large panel of Berry Burst to the card front centering on all sides.
  4. Take the panel of dsp and cut in half from top right to bottom left to form a triangle.  Add the triangle to the top of the card front.  See photo above.
  5. Add the strip of Bubble Bath to the card front butting the strip up against the dsp making sure the strip hangs over the panel at the top and bottom.  Trim the Bubble Bath to be even with the sides of the Berry Burst.  See photo above.
  6. Used the next to the largest of the Stylish Shapes circle dies to die cut a White circle.
  7. Use the embossing folder to emboss the circle from Step 6. Add it to the lower right hand corner of the card front using dimensionals.  See photo above.
  8. Stamp the Queen Anne’s Lace image on a scrap of White with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  
  9. Color the image as below.
  10. Flower heads – Berry Burst blend Note – randomly color the flower heads to mimic the flower heads in the dsp
  11. Leaves – Shaded Spruce blends
  12. Use the die to cut out the colored image from Step 9.  Add the image to the embossed circle using dimensionals.  See photo above.
  13. Take the sheet of Paper Butterfly Accents and the smallest full butterfly and color the body with Lost Lagoon and the inside of the wings with the Berry Burst and the outside of the wings with Lost Lagoon using blending brushes.  Note – Leave the butterfly in the die cut sheet as it will be easier to color.  See photo above.  
  14. Add small pieces of dimensionals to the back of the butterfly body and add the butterfly to the center of the Bubble Bath strip.  See photo above.
  15. Use the same coloring procedure and Queen Anne’s Lace stamp to decorate the inside of the card and envelope.
