Sending Love & Hugs

Oh I just love the stems, blossoms, and layers on this card inspired by Yvonne Spikmans, Stampin’ Up! 2022 Artisan Design Team. I used a bit of the new Subtles Designer Series Paper to anchor all of the stems, blossoms, and layers.

Measurements

Full list of supplies needed, listed below. A die cutting machine is needed for this card.

Basic Black Cardstock: 

  • 5 ½” h x 8 ½” w scored and folded on the long-side at 4 ¼”
  • Scrap for sentiment label and die cut

Basic White Cardstock: 

  • 5 ¼” h x 4” w
  • Scrap for flowers and stems 

Fresh Freesia Cardstock: 3” w x ½” h 

Highland Heather Cardstock: scraps for tiny flower dies

2023-2024 Subtles Designer Series Paper (DSP): 2 ¾” square

Let’s Create

  1. Affix all stamps to Acrylic Blocks.
  2. Fold the Card Base in half using a Bone Folder to sharpen the crease.
  3. On the Basic White scrap stamp:
    1. 2 large flowers in Highland Heather ink with Crushed Curry centers.
    2. 3 stems and leaves with Parakeet Party ink
    3. Tall flowers in Fresh Freesia and Gorgeous Grape added to the stamp with a sponge dauber before you stamp the image.
  4. Die cut all the stamped pieces.
  5. Add Adhesive Sheet to the back of a scrap of Basic Black Cardstock and die cut “Sending”. 
  6. On another scrap of Basic Black, stamp the sentiment in Versamark ink. Sprinkle with white embossing powder and emboss with the Heat Tool. 
  7. Die cut the Basic Black sentiment and attach to the Fresh Freesia strip with Stampin’ Seal. 
  8. Die cut 4 tiny flowers in Highland Heather cardstock. 
  9. Attach the Basic White panel to the Card Base with Stampin’ Seal.
  10. Lay the DSP square on the Basic White panel as a diamond. Use a pencil to lightly mark the top and bottom edges of the DSP diamond. Remove the DSP square.
  11. Stamp the cluster of small flowers in Gorgeous Grape ink on both sides of the pencil mark. 
  12. Use the Take Your Pick Tool to curl the edges of the DSP a bit and attach the DSP square with Stampin’ Seal. 
  13. Arrange the flowers and stems behind the sentiment tag and attach with a variety of Multipurpose Glue, Stampin’ Dimensions and Mini Glue Dots. 
  14. Attach the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  15. Remove the backing from the “Sending” die cut and attach over the flowers, stems and sentiment tag.
  16. Attach the Highland Heather tiny flowers with Mini Glue dots. 
  17. Tie a double bow with white Baker’s Twine and attach with a Mini Glue Dot.
  18. Add some Rhinestones Basic Jewels to the center of the tiny Highland Heather flowers. 
  19. Stamp and decorate the inside. 
  20. Decorate your envelope.
  21. Love it!! Who needs a pick me up? Put it in the mail.

Wishing You A Sweet Day Handmade Card

A classic combo- red, white and black! This time with a splash of bright green and a fancy fold- or maybe flip card. Unfold your heartfelt wishes for a sweet day with this fun card. I’ll show you how.

Cherry Cobbler Cardstock: 4 1/4″ h x 8 1/2″ w scored at 1 1/2″ and 7″ folded at the score lines to to 5 1/2″ h x 4 1/4″ w

Parakeet Party Cardstock: 3″ h x 4 1/4″ w (2)

Perfectly Penned Designer Series Paper (DSP): 4″ h x 5 1/4″ w

Basic White Cardstock:

  • 2 1/2″ h x 4″ w (3)
  • scrap for cherry, leaves and stems


Let’s Create

  1. Affix all stamps to Acrylic Blocks.
  2. Fold the Card Base in at score lines using a Bone Folder to sharpen the creases.
  3. On the edge of the Cherry Cobble Card Base, measure down from the top outer edge 3/4″ and up from the bottom outer edge 3/4″ on both sides. Make a mark with a pencil. Use your Stampin’ Snips to trim off from the pencil mark at a diagonal to the scroe line.
  4. Attach the DSP with Stampin’ Seal to the center inside background.
  5. Run the 2 1/2″ h x 4″ w Basic White Cardstock pieces (3) through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Scalloped Countour dies.
  6. On one scalloped Basic White Cardstock piece, stamp “Wishing you a” in Parakeet Party ink.
  7. One one other scalloped Basic White Cardstock piece, stamp “Sweet” in Cherry Cobbler ink, and “day” in Parakeet Party ink.
  8. Attach the unstamped 2 1/2″ h x 4″ w Basic White Cardstock piece to the inside on top of the DSP.
  9. Wrap the “Wishing you a ” panel with Black & White Gingham ribbon, then attach to one of the Parekeet Party panels with Stampin Dimensionals before attaching to the left flap- being careful where you put the adhesive!
  10. Attach the “Wishing you a” to the right flap with Stampin’ Seal- also being careful where you put the adhesive.
  11. On Basic White Cardstock scrap, stamp the cherry in Cherry Cobbler, the leaves in Parakeet Party, and the stem in Crumb Cake. Then punch out with the Cherries Builder Punch.
  12. Use Mini Glue Dots and Multipurpose Glue to assemble the Cherry. Attach Cherry to the front, over the Gingham ribbon with Stampin’ Seal.
  13. Fold in the right side and then the left.
  14. Sprinkle on the Black Matte Dots
  15. Stamp and decorate the inside.
  16. Decorate your envelope.

Basic White Cardstock:

  • Scrap for tag, cherries and sweet

Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper (DSP): 3 1/2″ h x 5 1/4″ w

Let’s Create

  1. Affix all stamps to Acrylic Blocks.
  2. Fold the Card Base in half using a Bone Folder to sharpen the crease.
  3. Run the DSP through the Stampin’ Cut & Embossing machine with the Basic Borders Dies. Attach to the front of the card with Stampin’ Seal.
  4. Run the 3″ square Basic White Cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut & Embossing machine with the Gingham Embossing Folder and attach with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  5. On the scrap Basic White Cardstock, stamp the Sweet, sentiment, and Cherries in Real Red ink, the Stems in Crumb Cake and the Leaves in Garden Green.
  6. Use the Cherries Builder Punch to punch the Cherries, Leaves and Stems. Use Mini Glue Dots, Multipurpose Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to assemble the Cherries. Attach with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Stampin’ Seal.
  7. Use Paper Snips to trim out the Sweet.
  8. Use your trimmer to cut the Sentiment down to a small rectangle, then use Paper Snips to flag one end.
  9. Attach the Sweet and sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Stampin’ Seal.
  10. Sprinkle on the Solid Faceted Gems.
  11. Stamp and decorate the inside and attach with Stampin’ Seal.
  12. Decorate your envelope.
  13. So cute! Now send it to someone special.
