Step It Up: Gumball Greetings

Whether you want to keep it simple or go the extra mile, let someone know you “chews” them with one of these fabulous cards!  (Products referenced are linked below).

CASUAL

We started by layering Basic White onto Bermuda Bay cardstock. We stamped and die cut the cute gumball machine from the Gumball Greeting Bundle, then stamped out a stripe pattern in Granny Apple Green. Finally, we stamped out a few gumballs in Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody, and Melon Mambo and then added an adorable sentiment.

AVID

First, we used the Tasteful Textile embossing folder to add texture to this card. Next, we colored Watercolor Paper with Bermuda Bay ink and then stamped and die cut the gumball machine. We used Silver Simply Elegant 12″ X 12″ (30.5 X 30.5 cm) Specialty Designer Series Paper to add some decoration to the machine, and die cut a few gumballs. We finished by stamping Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green stripes onto Basic White cardstock.

ARTFULLY AVID

For this card we blended Bermuda Bay, Mango Melody, and Melon Mambo ink together with blending brushes, then stamped out the stripe pattern using VersaMark ink. We filled the shaker dome with Frosted Beads Assortment and added some white Baker’s Twine to finish it all off. It turned out so sweet!

Let’s Create

  1. Affix all stamps to Acrylic Blocks.
  2. Fold the Card Base in half using a Bone Folder to sharpen the crease.
  3. Using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, stamp the sentiment in the upper right corner of the Basic White 4” x 1 ¾” cardstock.
  4. Using Flirty Flamingo Ink, stamp 3 or 4 flowers randomly on Basic White 4” x 1 ¾” cardstock.
  5. Using Granny Apple Green, stamp the leaves near the flowers, and using Crumb Cake ink, randomly stamp the sprig. Filling in some of the white spaces.  I did cut a mask for the flowers and used that in a couple of places to give the appearance that the sprig was behind the flower.

  7. Use Stampin’ Seal to adhere the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper to the 5 ⅜” x 4 ⅛” Basic Black panel, and then to the folded card front.
  8. Use Stampin’ Seal to adhere the doily towards the left side of the card.
  9. Use Stampin’ Seal to the stamped panel to the card so it is centered up and down in the doily.
  10. Using a Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend, color a length of the white crinkle ribbon and tie into a bow. With a Mini Glue Dot adhere the bow to the lower edge of the stamped cardstock, centering in the doily.
  11. Sprinkle 3 small Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels on the cardfront.

Party Pattern Host Designer Series Paper:

  • Scraps for ladybug bodies

Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper:

Basic White Cardstock:

  • Scrap for ladybug wings and small ladybug

Let’s Create

  1. Affix all stamps to Acrylic Blocks.
  2. Fold the Card Base at score line using a Bone Folder to sharpen the crease.
  3. Use the Ladybug Builder Punch to punch two bodies from the black with white dots piece of Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. Punch three sets of wings from the Old Olive Tree piece of Beauty of the Earth for the green leaves. Try to punch from parts that have very little distinct tree prints.
  4. On the scrap Basic White Cardstock, in Real Red Ink, stamp the wings twice and then in Tuxedo Black Ink, stamp the dots on the wings and the smaller ladybug. Add the smaller Ladybug body in Real Read Ink.
  5. Use the Ladybug Builder Punch to punch the wings and then use Paper Snips to fussy cut the smaller ladybug.
  6. Attach the wings to the Pattern Party ladybug bodies with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  7. Use the Plenty of Patterns Decorative Mask and a Blending Brush to apply a faint Old Olive patterned background to one of  the 5 1/4″ x 4″ w Basic White Cardstock panels.
  8. Stamp the sentiment in the lower left of the Basic White panel in Old Olive Ink.
  9. Arrange the ladybugs and green leaves (wings) on the card in such a way as to leave space for two clusters of flowers.  Remove the ladybugs and leaves and stamp two clusters of flowers in Real Red Ink, then attach all the leaves with Stampin’ Seal and the ladybugs with Dimensionals.
  10. Stamp the three dots stamp in Old Olive Ink in three to four spots.
  11. Cut 9″ of both ribbons from the Playing With Pets Trim Pack. Wrap both strands around the Basic White panel, tie into a bow and attach the panel to the Card Base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  13. Decorate the remaining Basic White panel and attach to the inside with Stampin’ Seal.

Basic White Thick Cardstock:

  • 7” h x 8 ½” w folded to 3 ½”” h for Card Base

Basic White Cardstock:

  • 3” h x 8” w

Coastal Cabana Cardstock:

  • 1 ⅝” h x 3 ½” w

Scraps

  • Garden Green Cardstock
  • Pear Pizzaz Cardstock

  • Crushed Curry Cardstock
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock

Let’s Create

  1. Affix all stamps to Acrylic Blocks.
  2. Fold the Basic White Thick Card Base in half using a Bone Folder to sharpen the crease.
  3. Run the Basic White Cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Meadow Moments Embossing folder. It will take two passes – once from each end- until you have it covered. I ran it through one side, then lined the embossing folder up from the other side to where the first pass ended and ran it again.
  4. Run the various colored scrap cardstock through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine several times with the Greenhouse Dies to create branches and flowers. I also used the Sprig Punch.
  5. Stamp the Sentiment in Versamark Ink on the Coastal Cabana Cardstock layer, sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and heat emboss with your heat tool. Use the Tailored Tag Punch to flag the end.
  6. Wrap Crinkle Seam ribbon around several times around the Sentiment and tie a bow.
  7. Attach Sentiment with Stampin Dimensionals, but leave plenty of room on the left side to tuck in your branches.
  8. Arrange the branches behind the tag punch and attach with Mini Glue Dot. Once you have the first layer sticking out behind the tag, you can add additional layers further left, behind the first layer.
  9. Use Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the flowers.
  10. Add white Classic Matte Dots to the center of the flowers.
  11. Stamp and decorate the inside.
  12. Decorate your Slimline envelope.
  13. So pretty! Which of your dearest friends will you send it to?
